My original reason for getting involved was both being a contributing part of the community and also securing and preserving the investment that I have made in my home, property, and this neighborhood. As a family we have grown to love our neighbors, and we sure love living here. I do what I can to be outgoing, pride myself on organizing community events, and find resolution to conflict whenever possible. I care about this neighborhood, the neighbors, and the family bonds we have developed in our short time here, I also look forward to the coming years and growing as a family in NLE. I look forward to serving our community.
As board member I'll work toward having better communication between the board and residents, both at meetings and otherwise. We hope to continue to develop and improve the quality of the community and life in NLE. It is especially important to me to have our property owners have uniform compliance to the deed restrictions. I do not want to see our neighborhood diminished in terms of equity growth of our substantial investments. My goal is to maintain the quality of the community and increase property values. A stable community, a community with active communication by neighbors, and an attractive community should be in the best interest of our Board and all NLE residents. My intent is to be a good steward of HOA funds, while getting the most return from any investments the board elects to make on behalf of the community. I am also involved with the HLSR if you are interested in volunteering there!
I was previously the President of the NLE Board of Directors, and look forward to continuing develop and improve the quality of life in NLE. I would like to see our property owners enjoy their life here. I certainly want help to increase NLE property values. A stable community, an attractive community, and a community with active diplomacy among neighbors should be in the best interest of all our residents.
I have resided in North Lake Estates since 2021. I would like to serve on the Board in order to preserve our community by being the voice of reason and speaking for the residents. I will provide a levelheaded approach and common sense to any and all issues that are brought before the board without the overly stringent ideas that come about.
My husband Jay and I have lived in NLE since March 2021. We are now empty nesters and enjoy entertaining friends and family at our home often. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know many of our neighbors and look forward to meeting many more. My volunteer experiences range from Church activities; Elementary PTO Board to a variety of positions within Boy Scouts of America throughout the years. These experiences help me be a voice for the community, bringing a unique point of view to the Board while bringing residents together, creating a safe, beautiful, and enjoyable neighborhood in which to live.
Willis became a community when The Great Northern Railroad decided to run a track from Houston to Chicago, and the Willis brothers donated their land in 1870 to the railroad.
The varieties grown here were of the highest quality, winning international awards in Chicago and Paris. At point, there were eight cigar operations in Willis. One, the Willis Cigar Factory was founded by Kentucky native Capt. Thomas Wesley Smith (1829-1901), a Civil War veteran and former sheriff, it remained in operation until the early 1900s.

North Lake Estates is a deed-restricted, residential community with access to the Willis Independent School District, convenient shopping, dining, entertainment, and leading health care facilities. Very near Houston’s beloved Lake Conroe located less than a half mile away, many of our residents take advantage of water activities such as boating, fishing, and skiing. For all of these reasons and more, our area continues to experience rapid growth, and we are very excited about the future outlook of our community!
